The master
class for choir conductors has started at 2015 under direction of the renowned Bulgarian
choir conductor and teacher Krikor Chetinyan and his assistant Krastin Nastev.
Both of them developed the idea to bring together choir conductors who want to
refine their skills in choir conducting and to learn new repertoire.
During the
last editions (2015, 2016, 2017, and 2019) together with the conducting lessons,
there were workshops on various topics as follow: jazz - Miroslav Turiyski,
folklor - Michael Delchev, American spiritual with Madlen Bachvarova, Scandinavian
music - Jakob Grubbström, Milka Toledova, Prof. Adriana Blagoeva, Darina
Krosneva - the boy’s choirs in Bulgaria, prof. Miroslav Popsavov - sacred music
and Frieder Bernius - late romantic music.
The
participants had the opportunity to conduct different vocal ensembles: Chamber
choir “Ivan Spassov" (cond. Gergana Lyutzkanova), Cantores amicitie
(cond.Jakob Grubbström), and Chamber choir of Berlin TU (cond. Donka Miteva).
This year
the master class will focus the repertoire of Spanish language and under the leadership of Krastin Nastev and Sergei Pavlov - both alumni of National Music Academy of Bulgaria.There will be two seminars,
led by Prof. Miroslav Popsavov (National Music Academy " Prof. Pancho
Vladigerov"- Sofia) on Rachmaninov's Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom and seminar on " The chorus master in a opera theatre" led by Krastin Nastev.
The master
class is part of the summer activities of National School of Music and Dance
" Dobrin Petkov" - Plovdiv where the first edition started at
2015.
